For me, the most useful things are:

1) a 12-hour / utc bezel
2) a central minutes chronograph
3) regatta timers.

I find those to the most useful for timing and managing everyday tasks.

Date of course and I like a day function too, during summer holidays I need to know what day it is for unknown reasons.

Diver bezel for diving. Nah, mostly for cooking. It can also be used to train grip strength if its a SMP.

I had a Casio with a tide function. Never used it, much easier to just look over the side of the boat.

I realize I do this too. When on holiday or traveling away from home I have a stronger urge to see the date on the dial.

I agree it wouldn’t be useful but I would still buy one of these just for the quirky interesting factor and it makes for an aesthetically interesting dial.

I use my diver bezels a fair bit for rough timing (grilling etc.) and as a fidget tool. I do wish that power reserve indicators were more common - I like them.

I would agree, diver bezel and power reserve indicator. I use my Sub bezel close to daily. Timing my workout, cook time, various events with my kids. My 1 and 4 year old also love trying to twist it. Second essential feature is water resistance, and again, the Sub is perfect. Dishes, sweat and rinse, kids bath time, days at the beach, I never have to even think about it. The power reserve function is just cool to me and reminds me of a fuel gauge.

I only had it on a quartz watch from Rip Curl but having the tide level indicator was pretty sweet back when I was sailing a lot, I'd try to time it to bring the boat back in on high tide or as close to it as possible and extend if it was low tide as dragging a rigged and wet 420 up a ramp covered in slippery dead jellyfish isn't a fun time.

I'd be able to rock up have my mate position the trailer and pull it 3 feet until level ground with no slime in sight which made that watch a godsend.

I like an annual calendar. If my watch is going to tell me the date of the month then my watch should be smart enough to give me the correct answer every day of the year, save the 1st of March 😀
