What is fair for a refurbished mint dial f300 cone

I have been strangely drawn to the white dial f300 seamaster cone 198.0008
I wasn’t looking for one nor even interested but there it was…and for some reason it reminded me of my stepdad that passed away a few years back that had a non Accutron non omega cone watch.
It’s not an auction. It’s from the local authority on accutron and co from what I’ve understood. It has no scratches , hardly any dents or markings at all and even the original dial and markers in mint condition. It’s the version with semi integrated and original bracelet.
Everything has gone through the roof lately in price and I’m just wondering what these would/should/could go for these days since I am honestly clueless.
For me this would be a keeper since the odd emotional connection it made to me but since money doesn’t grow on trees for me I don’t want to overpay.

thanks!

Had to say without pictures. £550 to £650 if purchasing privately. Assuming a mint dial, a recent service and light wear to the case.

I have 7 f300's all in great shape. Paid between 3-5 hundred USD dollars apiece. Market fluctuates a bit on these, but not a whole lot. if you love it 600 would be my top.

There’s like no wear , mint dial and full service …and its some more than 650

I’m in Europe and I’ve noticed the pricing on basically everything is quite a bit lower in the US .

I'm in the UK. I have two Omega f300s, both cost me well under £400, although neither was serviced. Which ties up with what @drose224 said. Both mine are mint condition.
The cone does tend to go for a premium over the other f300's.

I'd be asking myself why the seller thinks it's worth so much more than the market rate. Is the seller a business rather than a private seller?

If you're in the UK, the 'local authority' on servicing tuning fork is either Paul at electric watches, or the Croydon Watch centre. If you know of someone else who services these, please let us know. I have a number of other hummers in the watch box...

I’m from the Netherlands and this guy has been into servicing these movements since he was like 15 years old. Not only omega but all that is Accutron so yeah he is more of a business than just a private seller.

Well if it's a business, he has overheads and he's in it for a profit, rather than as a collector, or as someone selling off an unwanted watch.
Expect a 20% hike over those prices. In return, expect a warranty. No warranty offered? No price increase acceptable.

1 year warranty on the movement and runs within the 2 secs a day original scope.
It is kinda spotless though…and if you don’t sell, you can’t make a loss 😉

Are you sure? You seem to be seeking affirmation rather than a unbiased opinion of the going rate for one of these! 😁

Ultimately, to you it's worth what you're willing to pay.

These two are comparatively recent additions and both pristine although I bought the bracelet separately.

The blue dial was £330 on eBay auction in March 2023 and the gold plated, £220 in an eBay auction in January 2024. Both ran perfectly when I bought them.

I've sent a watch to the Croydon Watch Centre, who repaired the blue watch after I 'broke' it and it cost me £300 plus VAT to repair/service. They did a good job.

So, prices are, IMO, still down on the prices quoted above but unless the seller can prove service (recent reports/receipts from a reputable watchmaker) I wouldn’t advise any more expensive purchase unless you’re willing to take a gamble.

Unlike mechanical watches, competent watchmakers are fewer than one would think.

And, although I bought this lovely piece from @Toishome in the OF Private Sales thread in 2021 for $400, it had the benefit of his assurance (as a member of OF) that it was “running fine”, and it still does.

I went for it. I only loose if I sell and I won’t do that as it reminds me of my late dad. Original case ,back and bracelet. Completely overhauled and updated date wheel with metal teeth.
