Discoloration of dial is not that rare on these models. But this one shows a special face.

- water Infiltration?
- some kind of glue?

Horst, do you have pics of the state of the mechanism? That woulld shure help.

 

Very common for this poppy model and the banana, it's water ingress and most examples I have had or seen have unfortunately suffered from this.

 

Hmmm.... a Seamaster 200 which must be kept out of the water. Nice!

Here´s mine. Same phenomenon, but on mine evenly distributed around the dial.

I guess there's a reason to why you see so many of these with later replacement dials

 

But I wouldn`t change yours, it looks genine and vintage as it is.

The Patina of my Banana has been to "heavy" for me - so I prefered to place a new dial. But not sure about it - maybe one day - there will be a come back.
