I noticed this morning he is not even listed as a member any more, though his posts are still there. Perhaps he was put in the dickhead protection program?? That or Steve / @cicindela has given him the boot so he can be top dog in the double/double category.
I attempted to message a few mods a couple days ago when I noticed instead of starting a thread. Didn't receive an answer but have still been curious.
I DO hope he'll be back! He's such a profile. Unpolished surface, but a big, big heart. I tried to invite him home to me, but that post was deleted by Mods. The invitation still stands, if you read this, @ulackfocus
It's not my place to go into details I'm afraid - suffice it to say that there were things he didn't agree with and he decided to move on.
Hopefully, he changes his mind after some time away. Either way, please wish him the best the next time you speak with him.
Between Jan 12 -13 we had a light hearted PM exchange as we were getting our posts wiped out by mods all the time on a fun black and orange thread. He did seem pissed of with the way the OF was heading in terms of censorship. I was actually quite shocked with the way some of the mods were being so hardline with him. He has obviously been a massive contributor to the OF and I believe did deserve a bit more respect and tolerance from the mods. I do understand that during this period some mods were extremely tired during the SpeedyTuesday launch dealing with stressed out members who had missed out on the initial online reservation. Hope he comes back...
Well I will proudly carry the moniker he gave me for pontification on the virtues of Rolex one day last year. He's a character and I hope he reconsiders.
Dennis needed to take a break, the site's domain name is Omegaforums, a Speedmaster is an Omega and people don’t need to be afraid to discuss Omega watches on Omegaforums. We’re not going to talk about the man when he’s not here because it simply isn’t right. Dennis hasn’t burned any bridges, he has a lot of friends here and when he’s ready he knows how to contact us and we all do miss him.
