Hello guys.

I recently heard that Omega is giving their watches to employees which they then can buy with discounts if they leave the company. Which one would you choose of the current collection. Also regarding the collectability and pricedevelopement?

Even if it were true, which I doubt, I don't think they would give 321 or Snoopies away. AFAIK Omega watches rarely increase in price. So what gives? Take a basic Speedy...

Why would they give discounts for leaving? Shouldn't they give discounts for staying as in loyalty?

Boutique employees are often loaned watches during the tenure of their employment as an incentive to promote the brand. A discount on a worn watch for a former employee isn’t unusual. Not sure what you’re alluding to. Strange post.

This is absolutely true. They want the sales associates wearing an Omega. The SA I've talked to the most said he was able to pick what he wanted--although I assume it's limited to stainless steel non-limited models. He specifically said he was not allowed to pick the NTTD Seamaster, which is what he wanted, because it was a limited production. Not limited as in limited edition but limited as in production was supposed to end when the new James Bond was announced. I think Omega ended up offering the NTTD Seamaster a lot longer than they were anticipating!

It's also possible that the long-rumored Seamaster 300m revamp will coincide with the announcement of the next James Bond--which likely will occur this fall.

Just re-watched John Carter of Mars. Mark Strong would have made a great Bond. Although he is probably to old for the roll now. He does seem to have aged a lot better than Sean Bean though.

Still think JC of mars is underated, even it the leads were miscast.

Swatch does allow employee discounts for buying watches and I believe in the UK it's around 40% off but has to be approved through various managers / supervisors.

I don’t understand the statement ”Omega is giving watches to employees” which they can purchase at a discount when they leave! To give a watch to an employee implies (to me) that they then own the watch! How can they be expected to have to pay for a watch they now own when they leave the company? Strange post indeed!

Its like a watch for sales employes. They wear them in their work time to advertise the brand. And if they leave they have the opportunity to buy them or it stays in the company. Thats how i think it is.
