What do you think of this Seamaster 30?

I just bought this for $600, and I love it, but I'm curious about other people's thoughts. I'm curious about the case back because the hippocampus is usually etched and not in relief on seamaster 30's. But the only other example I've seen with this exact face had the same back. I'm also thinking the crown might have been replaced at some point, but I'm not sure how to find out what this watch originally looked like. Anyway, I'd like to see what you all think.

It's probably mostly correct, I can see where you'd get your question of the crown. It looks to me "in period".

Omega has a vintage page where you can look up older watches. For that you really need the case number, which is inside the caseback.

Nothing looks concerning.

Thanks. I don't have pics of the inside but I do have a serial number from the seller. It's from 1963.

Hi and congrats on this nice Seamaster 30 with crosshair dial.
It should be a ref 135.007 or 135.003 with cal.286. (In my opinion it is more likely a 135.007)

I am not sure if the caseback is correct as it has a relief Seamonster and not an engraved one. (If the ref on the inner side is correct than the relief caseback should be original too)

I would be surprised if that caseback is correct. But I did'nt do a extensive research. I did however had a lot of 30's in the past and they never had a caseback like that.

Anyway, enjoy your 30. They are lovely watches. It does'nt really matter if the caseback is correct or not. Just wear the heck out of it.

No offense, but instead of having us guess, why not just look inside the case-back.

Thank you to all of you. Really helpful.

And Dan S., good question. I'm just afraid to mess with it because I don't know what I'm doing. I don't even know how to take the case-back off.
