Did you get it? It went really quick on the UK ebay!

I have to tell you, I think it has been redialed. The train tracks look like they go over the arrows at the 3 and 9 position. The A's in automatic look too sharp. There is no swiss made just above the 6. Comparing this against the one on my wrist!

I think it's original. Some dials didn't have the "swiss made"...some had "fab Suisse" and some didnt.

Despite the poor pictures, I'd have to say I'm leaning to calling it original. The crown is a replacement and the movement wasn't perfect, but it looked like a fair price for a decent watch all things considered.

Original dial with slight patina. Case in nice shape. Could be an 18k rose gold example but hard to tell for sure from the pictures.

Forgive me if I'm wrong. I've just never seen one of these watches (case 2500) without the swiss made above the 6 position before is all. I know a lot of the older Omega's didn't have the swiss made on them.

The smaller version (case 2499) though, yes, I've seen a number of these without the swiss made at the bottom.

What's interesting is this one didn't have it either?

The earlier 2500s usually had swiss made while some of the later ones with the cal. 333 movement did not.

Based on the small photos, I vote original.

Thanks gents. I did get it. I would have sought your valued opinions before the fact, but it felt like an emergency. Better pics to come. :)

If a decent Centenary is for sale longer than 15 minutes it is an emergency.

Besides, I heard there was a little birdie who gave you a hasty evaluation earlier. :p

For the record, I hit up Dennis for a quick assessment via PM but panicked and pulled the trigger before he could get back to me. :)

Good move. There was a centenary I looked at a few moths back, asked for a movement shot and 20 minutes later the seller responded saying it was already sold... To someone here.... And it turned out to be rose gold....
Major regret I just didn't press the BIN button. :( :(

Centenary 2500's might not be rare, but in great condition they are uncommon and very sought after. Some collectors even recommend claiming it by hitting B.I.N. and then PM'ing some people for vetting.
