Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum and to the world of vintage watches, but I just bought this old omega that I would like to share with you, to know your opinions. Cheers!
If this is the watch I am thinking of, it is rather small. Maybe 31-32mm in diameter? What it isn't is an issued military watch. These came in a larger version, about 34-35mm, some of which were issued to the US Army: http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-watches-database?ref=14328 Dial and hands are slightly different on those. Still a lovely example. That orange patina is common on these dials due to issues with the original lacquer and high radioactivity from all that radium. Take care, gatorcpa
You're right, the case is 30mm, thanks for sharing those informations! Do you think 230$ is a fair price for this watch? Andrea
Seems fair, but remember that it's really small. Today, it would be considered a women's size. gatorcpa
This was a good purchase despite the small size as it is a very uncommon watch due to the odd case construction...
That'll depend on your wrist size. The 0s and 3/0s military watches I have don't look too small because I have small wrists. Actually kind of interesting to wear. Tom
I have plenty of 6/0 Hamiltons that look good on my skinny wrist. Wearing this one today as a matter of fact. I just wanted to make the distinction between your Omega and the US Army ones. Even though the dials are almost identical looking, 5mm is a big difference. Enjoy, gatorcpa
