    The case is heavily polished and appears to have been re-plated, the crown is incorrect (to small), the winding rotor appears to have been replaced, based on these demerits, I highly suspect the dial has been refinished as well.

    These micron gold plated cases, in this case 40m wear easily and have significantly less gold than a gold filled or capped case which would typically have 200-240 or so microns of gold.

    Agreed. At some time the case edges were polished off and it's been gold plated over top of the poor job. There are near mint examples of this watch around, which should be a white dial with dark text or grey dial with white text - without crosshairs.
