So we are moving...so we are packing and my wife says. "Can i throw this away? I hate it" Its been hanging in a corner collecting dust since mu dad died. If I wind it with the key things do move and the hammer does jot the bell, I don't think the hands are moving though. Back panel is removed through hand screws. Side panels are doors. Either way i said i thought it was an antique, she things its a cheap trade trinket. My dad did pick up trinkets but i cant see him picking this one unless it was from family. I don't see a brand and it does feel more utilitarian than luxury. Id hate to give it away and then seeing it on antique road show. Thoughts?
Its pretty cool. A clock repair place could steer you right. To me it looks very industrial. Factory clock....Bell for shift change? For gods sake don't toss it. Sell it to an antique dealer.
Definitely not a trinket. It's missing the pendulum so thats why it may nor run. I think it's European based on the style of the trains but I'd have to spend hours on the internet to find out. I'd keep it and dust it off and get it running again.
