What do I have here?

I was recently asked by my neighbour to have a look at a 911 Flightmaster owned by one of his family.

While there is a significant issue with the watch itself, the bracelet had me scratching my head.
A Quick Look made me immediately suspect something cobbled together and not a genuine 1171 as indicated on the clasp.

The clasp hinge pin looks like a blacksmith's replacement.

And the spring bars for case and clasp (mainly clasp) look to be bodied up to fit.

So, here are the bracelet pics.

Any thoughts as to what we have here?

Looks like the 1172 clasp is made to fit the links of an 1162 bracelet ?

Yep. The clasp doesn’t match the bracelet, which is why it looks cobbled together. Both look authentic, they just never came together.

I believe the 1162 bracelet is still available as a service part, so you can order one from Omega if you want.
