Obviously no one can tel you it’s history, that’s between the watch and its owners/your family.

It’s not a collectable model so the value will be the scrap value of the gold.

Of course do with it what you will, but it is a sharp looking Omega. I'd get it running, and wear it, myself. It will always have some value from the gold content, but once it's gone, it's gone.

This would be a great time to melt down that family heirloom.

Of course, in family history it’s worth much!

Thanks for your reply. I’ll will get it running, change battery and maybe leave it at a clockmaster to check over it. And then wear it as a daily watch! 😊

Thanks for your answer. What do you think the gold value is worth?

I'll preface this with "I have no idea," but this is not a large case, and looks thin besides. I'd think minimal gold value. A few hundred. Nice to know you could get a little for it in a pinch, but not enough to get rich tomorrow at the jeweler.

Quite a lot, I vote that you scrap it. 🙄

Only a jeweler can tell you that. However, I can tell you that there is a movement holder marked “Metal” which definitely not gold.

That depends on the weight of the watch case and back. Only way to really figure that out would be to remove the movement, dial, and crystal (along with any non-gold movement holders, then weigh it. Once you do that you can look up the spot price for 18k gold for an estimate.

As an educated guess, I’d suggest there may be 12-15g of 18k gold there. That’s worth circa £600-750.

How come that is not a collectable model?
