What can you tell me about this Omega? I’ve got no idea, so hit me!

How come that is not a collectable model?

It’s a quartz watch from the time when Omega wasn’t producing the best quality. Quartz watches generally aren’t terribly collectible

No very different. That’s an earlier watch with an automatic movement

I see, had no idea that’s a quartz watch and in the time Omega didn’t produce the best quality. Thanks for your input.

Are we talking about the same watch? I’m referring to the one in the first post where you clearly see it has a battery powered quartz movement.

Hello!

I inherited my grandfather's old watch. He received it as a retirement gift with his name engraved. I will keep it in the family out of respect ☺️
My wife wears it with a gold mesh bracelet, suits her better than me 😉 The local AD valued it at SEK 5,000 a few years back, mostly gold value.

Hej!

How come?
Fingerprints all over the battery, retainer cap for cell missing, incorrect cell (should be a 371}, among things perhaps less obvious.

1430 does not use a battery retainer cap/clamp. Correct cell as per TG-19-C-004-FDE is Battery 9.50 x 1.60 mm type 373.

I have always used the 371 cell in these.

Wouldn't be a problem, it's only 0.4mm higher, be a bit heavier on the wrist though.

As an educated guess, I’d suggest there may be 12-15g of 18k gold there. That’s worth circa £600-750.

I always kick myself when I look back on the solid gold reverso that I sold for 7k. I liked the watch but 150 grams of 18k 🤦‍♂️
