·I have a watch that no longer has that circled thing. Can something damage the mechanism? It is a quartz.

··Most fun screen name at ΩFWell, I've never had your problem. I think that a loose movement can't be a good thing. Why don't you get a mod to move this thread to the watchmaking forum and one of those guys may be able to tell you how to order a replacement. Or start a new thread there.
