Speedmaster Ive been looking for one for quite a while I would have liked a pre moon but Im thinking of a new one instead, it's very hard to find any pre moon that I would be willing to spend that much hard earned money on, or at least until i can do that fantastic score that you can read about sometimes.

Inner peace because I want to be a zen master.

Actually, I'd settle for a debt free existence because, well, isn't it obvious?

What: vintage Seamaster in excellent shape, one of the more minimalist/bauhaus-ish designs, preferably in rose gold

Why: wife just graduated from grad school and needs a watch. :)

The why is, because the pre moons are out of my range for the moment or that I have hard time to convince my old wife that I really need this.

850 csi. I got one titanium tantalum and gold and that is my holy grale but I kind of miss it it's been in for service for over two months :-( I got a call from the watch shop/repair here in Panama that they where done, and I went there but that watch is still not fixed and I only picked up my GMT seamaster co axial that have been on my wrist for quite a few years and now belongs to the wife.

What: new strap for the recently acquired Speedmaster -69. What are your opinions of the Hodinkee straps? Are they worth the money (comfortable) or are they hype like what happens to the watches they review? I suspect more the latter.

Why: preserve the 1175 bracelet, I think it is a little to thin for the watch, and to make the watch "mine".

Want: I just want my bloody watches releases from the clutches of Danish customs!

Why: Nobody likes to see a grown man cry. Well, the customs officers might. That would explain a lot of things.

    Britain to stay in Europe
    Why?
So I don't have to pay VAT if I buy watches from there
( oh yes - and so we still have an economy when I eventually return home...)

    I'm looking for no watch.

I'm actually mortified by the thought I actually run into the perfect gold chronograph (UG Tri Compax or Longines) or Omega pie pan deluxe...

What: Omega Speedmaster Pro - 35th Anniversary Apollo 11 LE released in 2004, full set from a trusted seller and for a reasonable price.

Omega Speedmaster Pro Apollo 11 35th Anniversary LE 2.jpg
    http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?md=read;id=2110

    Why: Several reasons:
    1. It is a gorgeous looking timepiece. I love everything about the dial, the contrasting black sub-dials, the hour markers, the thin black bezel.
    2. It is a rock-solid functioning chronograph.
    3. 2004 was a very important transitional year for my wife and I. She became pregnant with our daughter, it was our first full year in a new house, and it was also a big year for both of our careers
    4. My wife has always admired the Panda, once made us drive 4 hours each way to see the visiting Pandas at the Toronto zoo.
    5. I often include the Panda emoticon in texts to my wife and daughter when travelling, I think of the 3 black sub-dials as representing my daughter, my wife and myself.
    6. I would wear it often and it very much resembles the Rolex 6263 grail for me.

    What: a 176.001 prototype.

Those are some really great reasons, especially #5! I hope you find your (almost) perfect watch.
