Made a quiche yesterday...I'll skip the pastry making as that is very straightforward. Some filling here - cremini mushrooms and onions - after cooking these down, some white wine was added and cooked down, then the mixture was cooled:

Eggs, cream, sour cream, some milk, cayenne pepper, freshly ground nutmeg, freshly ground black pepper:

Filling is the onions, mushrooms, a small amount of bacon, tarragon:

Topped with some Gruyere:

Ready to bake:

Letting it cool:

Tasty:

Two nights ago: filet mignon, seared in a cast iron skillet and finished in the oven (400°F for eight minutes), served with a Roquefort cream sauce, and twice baked potato.

Last night: bone-in pork chops baked with seasoned sauerkraut (with applesauce and bacon), mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Roast local, free range chicken, with roast spuds, carrots and peas, and a side of sage and onion stuffing.
All very traditional, but nonetheless tasty for it.

@Archer - I love RUMMO. What a great pasta - it has such great texture and life.

Yes, it’s very good for clinging of the sauce. The dies they use to extrude the pasta give it that texture.

A simple and nutritious repast last night … and wild salmon from a tin… and with red wine (no breeding). The carrots, beans, tomatoes and herbs are all fresh picked from the garden - not a bumper crop for the effort this year, but we imagine what little we have got does taste better. Maybe the cat flavours them (he better not). The garden is landlocked … so tinned salmon it is then :0)

Is nobody eating dinner these days :0)... I might have to learn to cook. Anyway it was UK style Chinese resturant last night - very nice informal evening.

Last night nothing......as we were out and about... so we did sneak in a full English breakfast... with the Union Jacks fluttering in the breeze.
Hash Browns (standards are slipping)..... and no black pudding... but we still enjoyed it / kept us going for the day.
