Did you cook the asparagus on the grill or pan with some olive oil. I usually steam it but on occasion will put it on the pan with olive oil and Parmesan. Yours looks very tasty
Grilled in the 34-degree sunshine! If it’s raining then always on the pan or flash broiled. I feel the flavors are more intense

So, we made wings last night. Since we are trying to make them as healthy as possible, we started by steaming the wings for 10 minutes, which renders out a good amount of fat that drips down into the water:

We then bake them in the oven, 20 minutes per side, on a rack with a tray under it - more fat is rendered out in the baking:

We then made a glaze with orange juice, hoisin, rice wine vinegar, red pepper flakes, and a few other things. They were delicious and as crispy as any deep fired wings I've ever had, without so much grease. Salad on the side and it was a great meal:

It appears as though you're as good a cook as you are a watchmaker. One great meal after another!

I try. I do like to cook, but certainly don't do it all the time.

Bread and wine. Sometimes all it takes is a nice warm loaf (Mrs. Muddlerminnow has been baking a lot lately....)

We had this for lunch. We don't bother with Christmas. We don't have any children and our families are far away. That's not to say we dont enjoy our day. We just treat it like any other day.

Why is nobody eating Christmas dinner! Any excuse will do for us. We had roast chicken with all the trimmings with Mrs. E's superb red wine gravy and a bottle of cheap but excellent (if left open for a day) Bulgarian red. Sprouts parboiled then panfried in butter with black pepper so quite palatable. I didn't take a photo of the blackcurrant cheesecake so you'll have to take my word for that.

Rib roast for tonight's Christmas Dinner. I went very low and slow, since we all like rare. But frankly it turned out more like prime rib than a rib roast; I was missing the char on the bones.
