Hi Yall. I purchased an omega recently (15000 gauss AT) from an AD, and the weirdest thing happened. the date on the int' warranty was smudgy and not completely legible IMG_0823.JPG , and the Ref. number and watch no. was blank. and when i called them he told me not to worry and just fill it out myself. my concerns are a) is that a problem for the warranty? and b) should i fill it out?also is it possible that an AD would sell a fake? they are also an AD for ulysse-nardin. the AD is princess world jewelers does anyone know of them?

It is common thing for AD. What's important is the Pictogram. The date sometimes hand written or stamped with low quality ink. I even have Warranty with blank date, the AD said the Service Center will fill the date first time I service (never try before).
If you are not sure, share us your watch pictures here. My gut tell me it is original because it is difficult to fake 8500 family movement.

I don't think so. They have assigned "Authorized Dealer" title for a reason.

Look at the movement. your proof will be there. You're more likely to be struck by lightning than buy a fake from an AD

I would suggest that no AD would risk either their status or their reputation by selling an outright fake. What would they have to gain?

Grey market examples might be a different story.

just one more question. this might be a little crazy, but when i purchased my watch i set the time to a satellite clock to the exact second. and i noticed after about 3 days the watch is about 4 seconds off, is that something to be concerned about with the 8508?

I'm not very good at math or really anything in particular but I think 4 seconds over 3 days is about 99.9999(9)% accurate.

Many first time mechanical watch owners think a mechanical is dead on accurate, chronometer means between +6 and -4 seconds per day, from memory Omega tighten that to +6 to -1 on their own accord.

That's worse than a typical quartz watch, but the difference is this:

I sometimes wear a 1948 Omega Centenary Chronometer, which has been in use for 66 years and it still keeps within chronometer time at +2/day. Your calibre 8500 will stay a chronometer and retain its accuracy if properly serviced many decades after you're gone.

My speed master Pro is only 99.988427265363% accurate, so you should be happy.

But here's what crazy, my $375 Citizen Perpetual Calendar only gained 2 minutes in a year, which is 0.65 seconds a day.
