Hi guys !

I am negociating to buy this lovely vintage omega geneve, but looking at similar Models here and lther websites, I can't find one with the same style of cursive writing, nor with the "swiss made" separated line that.

I know the crown isnt Genuine (ill see if I can source one) but the rest should be.

Anyone know more about this model? I believe its a 2903.

Thanks in advance!

The dial and hands look correct to me as well. It’s very difficult to find these old cursive Genève dials in excellent condition, so congrats on that. The crown is incorrect and the correct one hasn’t been made in a very long time, so I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for finding a correct replacement. Unfortunately, the case on yours has been polished and that is often the case with these models. The chamfers on the lugs are the first thing to go. Still, all in all, a pretty good example that you have there. Photos of my 2903, which is fully correct and unpolished, for comparison.

Aren't the 5 and 7 hour indices misaligned with the hashes? Or is that the angle of the photo? The two subsequent watches posted by members don't exhibit the same problem. Not saying there's definitely a problem, just trying to learn.

I think the dial on OPs watch has been refinished. Minute track ticks are inconsistent and I don't believe there should be tick marks at the hour indices.

You beat me to it. +1 for redial.

I agree. The thing that jumped out at me is the very inconsistent distance between the ticks and the edge of the outer silver ring. In some places they are almost touching and in other places there is a big gap.

Well, shame on me. I should have given it more than a passing glance. I looked at the crosshair which is usually a dead giveaway for a redial (too thick, uneven, etc.). It looked good to me so I didn’t look further.

The “Geneve” text is slightly off. The accent on the “e” is usually a bit more curvy and the “G” as well.
The other thing that stood out initially to me was the omega logo, which I found too thin.

Hi all,
I’m doing some research on the cursive Geneve version, as I am looking to buy the below watch. Came across this great thread and wanted to ask your views on whether this is a repainted dial. I can’t seem to find fault, except perhaps the cross hairs are a bit off? Thanks!
(I don’t have a reference number unfortunately..)
