Love the mid century modern design and mesmerizing starburst 'seconds' wheel.

Before (arrived with the starburst seconds stuck and with an unappetizing yellowed plastic patina) :

Completely disassembled, cleaned, painted, and polished the acrylic cover to remove scratches.

The mechanism inside these is fascinating. I should have taken some pictures.

Although the display is digital, it's totally mechanically powered. There are 4 neon tubes that illuminate the different sections. A little motor turns (calibrated to the 60 Hz electrical power/mains), spinning discs that cover up different parts of the tubes producing the digits and starburst.
