Tough call, but I LOVE my FOIS and can't stop staring at it when I wear it. Good luck!
I can’t stop staring at it, either, looking for the minute hand.

Hmmm.... "Can't stop staring at the watch" is very much something I suspect a newlywed doesn't want out of their new spouse, let alone during the wedding!

"Honey, time for our vows!". "Huh?what? Sorry. I was distracted"

Green AT for sure. It's more about the story, not so much the watch.

Still think the green AT is a more appropriate choice in this situation, despite all the Speedy fans pushing their agenda. 😁

There are a 1000 flavors of Speedmaster, so no agenda because the Speedmaster is the perfect watch that works for all situations. Just need to find the Speedmasters that work for each of your various situations.

That's true of all the hands on it, but doesn't affect my enjoyment of it.

You can't go wrong with any of those three. There is a sentimental feeling for the green dial Aqua Terra because of the Ireland connection, but I'd be careful. I've been collecting watches since 1979 and green dialled watches were never a theme of the industry; grey, creme, blue, black, silver and white all come and go, but green, that's a new one. It will eventually fade from popularity. Since the watch is partly a memento of the wedding and honeymoon it should hold a long term interest. But how relevant and daily wearable will a green dial watch be in five, ten, 25 years from now? It might be as wearable as a Nehru jacket from the 70's, or skinny belts and ties. Just something to keep in mind for an expensive item.

I`m surpriced that the AT havn`t blown the Speedy out of the water. The AT is a much better watch in every way; WR, date, automatic.

Do a search on problems with a watch on OF, I`ll bet 75% of the complaints is Speedy related.

Now if there was a green Speedmaster readily available, that would kill two birds with one stone!

Finding one will be a challenge, let alone finding one at a sensible price!

I love how you're doing this! Anything you choose for him will be a smash hit, I assure you.

My good watches have all been gifts to me from my lovely wife.

First was my blue Aqua Terra (George Clooney actually asked me what he should wear)...

Next was my Speedmaster Pro...

Now, with a milestone birthday last weekend, we just sent funds to the Omega Boutique last night for a new FOIS! (I stole the photo from the web)...

I think a wedding gift has to be a Rolex. ::stirthepot::
Hmmm…

Disclaimer…. I love Omega. I own multiples Omegas,

That said, he’s a pilot. I assume an airline pilot.

The GMT Master II is as close to a perfect travel watch ever made. The 126720VTNR would be the pinnacle as it includes the splash of green. Much harder to get on short order though unfortunately.

Of the three poll choices, the FOIS.

My fiancée loved the FOIS—its size felt just right and the vintage vibe made it feel special. The hand-wound movement also added a nice little ritual to her day.
