Was out in Palm Desert this weekend for some golf. After Saturday's round instead of hanging out drinking with the guys I drove around to see some of the Desert X art installations. Real interesting and attracting a lot of people. Here are a couple phone shots of the Doug Aitken house (note how the reflective surface seems to make the house blend in with the desert; the second shot is a reflection from an inside wall) and the Philip Smith ring of posts. There are around 15 installations in the Palm Springs and Palm Desert areas, and if you can get there it is worth the effort.
