Hi everyone,

I would be grateful if anyone could recommend a good and reliable watchmaker in the Brussels region or elsewhere in Belgium. One who can source Omega parts would be preferable.

Many thanks in advance,

John

The only watchmaker I know of in Belgium is Able Court of HeuerTime, he’s very highly regarded likely has a waiting list and likely isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for and the high end chronographs he tends to deal with need a reliable set of hands.

Had forgotten about this! Bump in case any of the Belgian members I 've seen commenting on the forum recently have any suggestions.

If you don't mind sending your watch in Germany, I know a really great Omega guy.

Thanks! Feel free to share the details. Ideally I'd like to avoid posting the watches but happy to look into the option.

More things wrong in that video than I could count, and I haven't even gotten to the "mistake" yet...

Oh and there it is. That's why you support jewels when pressing hands on...

::facepalm1::::facepalm1::::facepalm1::

And in the next video he incorrectly diagnoses the fault as being too much end shake on the jewel, when he shows that by pressing on the seconds wheel as he did when he fitted the hand clearly bends the wheel train bridge, and was the real cause of the fault.

I seriously hope no one follows this "tutorial" on servicing a movement.

Actually, the actual location of the watchmaker in Germany is even less than 400km from where I am in Belgium 😜
In my defence though I did grow up on a relatively small island (Cyprus) where anything more than an hour drive is considered very long distance!

Maastricht is an easy drive away. I once bought a vintage watch from https://scorpione.nl/
I think they also got a mention via Fratello once. I later had my watch serviced by Swiss Time in the UK who are top notch and it pretty much had all its fingers and toes in working order - so the owner at Scorpione had not done a bad job.

Indeed Maastricht is very easy to get to and a nice day out. Many thanks for the suggestion!

These youtube videos is why I don't/can't wear mechanical watches any more, I don't know much about movements, servicing, watchmaking, but even I can spot at least 1-2 cringe mistakes every video - and the scariest part is, some have a million views, and 95%+ likes etc.

The hardest part is seeing how the dials get treated and hold, it's a miracle how all the lume pips that are still standing stand

And the video in question is actually one of the good ones ...
