Do they come in different sizes cause I looked on the Rolex website it said 36mm
You should be able to compare them side by side at an AD in 31/36/41mm, oh wait.::facepalm1::

Ha ha that’s why I wanted to ask my friend where he got it but yeah you answered my question I was pretty sure they come in 41mm. Economically I would think he would more likely have the 36 but it looked bigger to my eye. Measurements like that are hard to make (for my anyway) when your trying to fit in a lot of talk in a handful of minutes. I’m just a simple collector dude anyway I’m not an encyclopedia of watches like many of you. Especially with Rolex, my one Rolex was a quartz shows you how much I know. I’ll see him again though and get the full scoop. I think his family may have helped him get it as he went from a junky stick up boy to completely changing his life which is a commendable task for anyone. I used to just drink a lot of whiskey and try to fight cops after my third ass whoopin I figured this isn’t working out well. But he is a real solid dude now unfortunately I know a lot of people who lost their life to that lifestyle so celebrating with a nice watch like that seems totally appropriate.

Me neither, just browsed the Rolex site quickly to see the possibilities.

I was walking to the Bellagio pool with my newly purchased Planet Ocean from their boutique. I saw something like this on someone frolicking about ..

I was coming home from Kauai and the guy in the seat next to me had this. The seats were separated cubicles so unable to strike up a conversation. I pointed to my watch, then his, and then gave him a thumbs up. He ignored me. I suspect he thought I was a psycho on a plane.
I was wearing a 16600 on a rubber Barton so mine may have looked janky. His looks like a newer Deep Sea Sea Dweller. It really sparkled and made mine detumesce a bit. No cyclops and pretty sure it was a SD rather than the Sub.

I find that impromptu watch conversations are pretty hit or miss. Last month, I chatted about watches for 30 min with a nice fellow when I noticed his Planet Ocean. Today I was at the zoo with my toddler and I complimented another dad on is Air King. He looked at me like I was crazy and then abruptly walked away.

OK so i'm still under the affect of this sighting.. two days ago at London Luton airport, queuing up at passport control after landing, the Border Force officer was shouting "Next! Next!", so i looked behind me to let the person know they're next.. and something unexpected happened. No idea how, but from a distance of about 3-4 meters i spotted the person wearing what i believed to be nothing less but a SOYUZ Speedy!!! Nothing came out of my mouth, I just kept staring, making the person very uncomfortable, and the officer even more impatient. I know it's a long shot, but if it was you, hereby apologising for staring. I was looking for you later for a quick chat and perhaps a double wristshot, but there was a huge crowd, so no chance. If you recognize yourself, please own up! 😀

If you saw the 'Italian' Soyuz Speedy it would be a super-extraordinary sighting! Could you clarify which? -- Italian or meteorite?

I usually do some watch spotting around town and I never see anything but Apple Watches anymore. I'm the guy with the most interesting watches I see at any given time. lol

A person just came to mind, who's British, travels a lot, and has access to high end watches like a Soyuz.. now that i did a quick search on what William looks like, I think it might have been him. Although it all happened too quick, it wasn't the face i was locked onto, but the watch. And of course at the worst possible place where there's no turning back or even waiting.. @Spacefruit, can you please confirm? 🍿

The watches don't have to be expensive or even a name brand, but, what watches have you seen in the wild that grabbed your attention? Name the watch, if you can, and where you saw the watch.

I'll start... in Los Angeles there is no shortage of luxury watches walking the streets, however, three stand out for me.
1. Black dialed Audemars Piguet T3 in the lobby of the AMC Century City Movie Theaters

2. A Panerai 341, the gigantic homage watch to the Egyptian Navy Panerai, on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills

3. A Jacob & Co, massive and highly unusual complicated looking watch, in a Persian restaurant in Westwood. I always feel a little uncomfortable approaching people and asking them about their watch, but, since we were sitting near one another, I just explained that I was a watch collector and found his watch fascinating. He told me the manufacture, one I'm not familiar with, but, it looked very expensive. ( similar to the image )

Some of those Jacob & Co. watches are over $1million, it's crazy!

Old guy at the garden centre when coming off of all things the little ride on train. I made mention of his very well worn (as should be) gold Rolex Daytona. I don’t know if he clocked I had a nice shiny DateJust on but he did make a funny little laugh and that was that.
