.... love the aesthetics and design, just subtract the diamonds and slap in something mechanical (or if not, make the price more in line with quartz)...

To quote or not to quote. Or start a new thread. I did not even see the diamonds at first. I did a screecap of this as I see the image of the watch in question is cached on the omega site and may vanish. there is also a lot of whitespace in the catalog image I trimmed.

I love this band, and it gives me some ideas for how I might enhance some of my own older watches and bring them back into useable shape. Most of my watches are old and have rather maculine stlye bands. I want a soft flexable band.

My mother (who usually wears a watch) does seem to like the expansion bands (which I get to adjust for her.) I have a few of her older watches which have migrated to my drawer, because the quartz movements have gone bad.

I find expansion bands so masculine or pinchy. I really want a cloth band that feels soft. That I sort of do want an expasion EVA Velcro band for my speedy.

There is also the question of frankens. I could easily fix up some of these old bulk brand cases with a vintage movement. (If I was not lazy I could even source a new quartz one.) Is that something one should do.

I save my old tattered jeans for their fabric (trendy in their own right.) The old canvas denim is great to work with. Now I am thinking what if I sewed together a band for a vintage watch. Would that be heresy?

Someone on here turns old baseball gloves into straps on occasion.

For elastic bands, check out the Delugs Loop bands or parachute bands from Erica's Originals

But, if you want to make a band out of vintage denim, I'm excited to see the results!

In a similar fashion to the band, but with even more windings around the arm, my partner took a long (and flat) piece of soft leather, and put one of her ‘smaller’ watches on. Imagine a +- 7cm wide winding of leather on one’s arm, kind of haphazard and overwound, with air gaps, with a watch in the midst of it. I have not seen it for a while so I’ll ask her and hopefully have a picture to add…

Funny I too thought this strap was the best part of the watch! I like the pattern but it might be hard to keep clean.
I don’t think there should be any heresy about anything. A watch is a tool to be used an enjoyed, you should put whatever strap you like.
