Watchco or PO2500?

Guys, this is my first post on this wonderful forum. As a long time lurker, I specifically joined to be able to respond to offers of a Watchco SM300 no date or a 42 mm Planet Ocean 2500D from a trusted member.
Unfortunately neither watch is regularly offered, so if anyone knows a seller of either watch I would be highly grateful.

So someone is offering these to you? Or you wanted to post a WTB but couldn’t?

The Watchco will always be a watchco. Some people prefer the smaller thickness of the 2500.

I think these Watchco builds are great. My only reservation is how a 50 yr old movenent will hold up.

I have both the watchco and LE LMPO. I enjoy wearing the watchco more. Greats watches imo. You won’t be disappointed. The version of the PO you’re looking for should cost you less.

If you love the old 300 look get the Watchco. The true vintage ones are getting pretty dear--and then you might be scared to wear it. The PO is totally different watch. What made you choose between these two Omegas?

cant go wrong with the 2500, the movement is a workhorse and its a gorgeous fairly slim dive watch.

I would personally take the 55X or 56X series over a 2500 pretty much any time.

I have had the SMPc, the current Diver 300M and didn't like either of them. Then I saw the Watchco and was immediately sold on the perfect look and size of this watch. I had and have some concerns regarding the movement being super old though.
And then I saw the PO and noticed that I looks very similar to a SM300. Minus the hands (and the HEV is not as unsightly as it is on the Diver 300M). I immediately got a POLMLE (thougth I'd go with the best) but didn't like it on account of all the glossy surfaces. I did notice that the PO 2500 is indeed a perfect modern interpretation of the SM300 in many ways.

The current retro diver 300 would be most like it—but maybe a bit dressy. Have you tried it on? Have you tried the PO on? The PO is a great watch—but it’s a big piece of metal.

the 2500 42mm is the smallest wearing PO. Or darn close, the 39.5 of the current gen is thicker. 2nd gen's or 45.5's those are giant hunks of metal that totally beat the Rolex sub in the use of a weapon category of any review.

or you could suck it up and wear a ladies' 2nd gen 37.5mm PO 😀

I tried one of those on. Even with my skinny wrists it looked waaaay too small. Way smaller than a 36mm Rolex for example.

Loved this one in the photos, but not in person. Again, the glossy appearance of the bezel makes the watch look dressy and takes away from the toolwatch feel. I also don't like that the watch does not boast AR on the crystal.

That's interesting. I also let go off my LMLE PO for the same reason. IT's a perfect watch but ended up being a little too perfect if that makes any sense. I still love it but it just felt too polished. I actually miss my XL with orange numerals more. May get another one (with or without the orange). It felt rugged and just right.

Love the style and appearance, plus I think the vintage movement is just plain interesting.
