i have had problems finding watch weights. Generally hard to find on manufacturers web sites. Anyway, I weighed the Speedmaster Professional I have from 1992 ant my new Seamaster. The weights are: Speedmaster, 117.0 grams and the Seamaster is 164.8 grams. These are weights as shown.

I don't know why this is not stated. It matters to me too. I generally like to wear watches that feel like nothing on my wrist, so when I inventoried my collection a few months ago, I weighed all of them too. Some really stand out. Breitling super ocean and Seiko diver at 160g. That's heavy folks. I have a couple smaller vintage under 50g. 100g+- feels right to me, which equals a speedmaster moonwatch.

I tried on a friends 25 year old Rolex. Very lightweight, especially the thin bracelet. Felt flimsy.

My Seamaster has been heavier ever since my youngest unscrewed the helium release one day. Anyone else? ;) :whistling:

IMO, it's a shame that both Omega and Rolex have moved towards heavy, overbuilt bracelets. I prefer the lighter weight, yet still durable and functional Rolex bracelets from 20 years ago.

Agreed. Especially the clasps: micro adjustments are nice and comfortable but for me the bulk negates the improvement.

Each to their own, I prefer a heavier watch. I prefer to "wear" my omega seamaster with SS bracelet over my panerai on a leather strap because of exactly that. however the PAM looks so much nicer. well lets face it, its double the cost as well.

275-277 grams if you have all 15 links on it with the 2 small ones, that's my kind of training!

Weighed my Seamaster 300 professional after trying on a chaps submariner the other day. It felt quite lightin comparison. Just weighed mine (with bracelet). 158g. Not sure how much a Submariner weighs?

I recently had the chance to weight a 1154 movement and it weighted 25.8 grams, now to find out about the 1164 and or the 1152, just for fun.

As an owner of one of the heaviest non precious metal Omegas of the past decade.
You get over the weight quickly like a day or two. Even if it’s out of rotation for a few months I barely notice the 268g or so when everything else is under 160g or so.

Do you think there is a weight difference between the mechanism 1154 and the 1164 ? ,
And how much weight does the sapphire glass / dial / bracelet pins and the anti-magnetic iron cage weight all together @Archer

43.5mm Planet Ocean 8900 in steel with 2 links removed is 207g. With the bracelet off it was 117g if I recall.

Hi had the chance to weight the gold seamaster link 20mm from a 2196.20 it is 4.7grams and the pin is 0.3grams seems plated as I doubt the pins would be solid gold but I could be mistaken.

I have his stainless brother. My bathroom scale is somewhat accurate to the nearest 5 lbs (but it tends to register higher for some reason :whistling:) so I couldn’t weigh my 300m chrono. It may be a bit lighter than gold but it is a seriously heavy piece of hardware!
