Hi Guys, first time here. I bought my Omega Seamaster Quartz around 1964. The gold band was replaced with new from Omega. I don't know the model number but if anyone can give me an idea of what it is worth I would appreciate it. Not selling but if it is worth a bit then I will put it on my insurance.
thanks.

The value is mainly sentimental, not much actual monetary value. Perhaps you meant to say 1974, not 1964.

You may have gathered that early quartz are not well liked here:

It's more like 1984

On the back might be a number lightly etched, that will tell us the movement identity which will probably give a 2-3 years band for the year of manufacture

If you/someone opens the back then inside the case will be the full reference which will pin it down properly

From the wear on that bracelet it's gold-plated not solid gold so......

........the value is around 35-40 Big Macs® if it's running, one satchet of tomato ketchup if it's not.

Thanks guys, yes I think 1984 sounds better and the number on the back is 1420

+1 for sentimental value.

Your policy will probably cover you for loss of smaller value items without the need to detail them on the policy.

1420 production started in 1982 so between then to about 1985 is right. That integrated bracelet is so 1980s too. If you need to get it serviced then you have the choice of paying Omega a good chunk of change or finding an independent specialist in these quartz movements -- and there are miniscule numbers of those.

I was in a similar position to you, I bought my quartz Seamaster new in 1982 and that history made it worth keeping going properly so I eventually sent it to Bienne for service in 2015.
