I’ve had success with these by removing the back, removing the stem and crown, putting the case back on again, then a short burst of compressed air through the case tube will pop the crystal out. I only do this at customer risk in case the crystal breaks! Of course, this must be done in a sealed plastic bag in case the hands go flying.
I did that with a Seamaster Cosmic 2000 once.

It didn't have a happy ending.

How do you seal the pump to the stem?

I have a cosmic 2000 and a little inflator pump. There is too much gap. I could probably machine something, but that takes time and effort. I tried some rodico, but it just fell off.

Bergeon sells a similar looking tool. I suspect it has a tip designed to fit.

My compressor nozzle has a rubber tip with a small opening. Perfect for placing over the case tube when you blip the trigger. NOTE: This is best done with your compressor on LOW PRESSURE. Increase the pressure gradually until the crystal pops. Air must travel into the case, through the centre hole in the dial, to expose the crystal to air pressure. You don’t want to demolish the dial, or lose the hands. CUSTOMER RISK ONLY!

Both DH and US Army!

Excellent!

I have been after one of those.

This is the page you need as it is for the US marked watches https://www.helvetiahistory.co.uk/helvetia-us-army-oh-watches

I have D39622H but without the US Army marks.

If you open the back I'd be interested in the Helvetia serial number for my research, it will probably begin 419.

And if you decide you want to pass it on ever please let me know!

Thanks. Carl.
