If you are looking for exotic leather (gator/croc, ostrich, stingray, chicken leg, "regular" leather like calf, etc) I highly recommend Hoang who owns HoangDidDatStraps - http://tuantom.com.

Very high quality straps for the price, highly customizable for odd lug sizes and length etc, and the customer experience is second to none. He's a very easy guy to order from and super responsive (just send him a FB message), I changed up my order several times because I made a mistake on the lug width of an incoming watch and he's very flexible (this was my fault so of course, try to get it right the first time). Probably the biggest downside is the wait-time because he has a wait list (he's popular) and he's located in Vietnam - you're not going to get the straps the next day so there's an element of patience that's required.
Here's the incredible variety in just Ostrich leather alone that Hoang has, pretty much every color under the rainbow! Another downside to this - deciding what you want to buy!

·I’ve been a cheap watch strap wearer for... well forever. I could never get over the fact that some “expensive straps” cost more than some of the beater watches I own. I am now a convert... a nice strap will completely change the look and feel of even a great watch.

·I'm a big fan of https://bulangandsons.com; I have three of their leather straps in different colours and they all are gorgeous.
I've also tried https://www.hodinkee.com straps, they are also very nice, but with shipping and customs to Canada, they are a bit more expensive.
You can also try https://www.watchgecko.com, good straps, cheaper than the other two I've mentioned.

·I have posted in another thread, but, I figured folks here may want to see it. I just got this from www.strappedfortime.com. It is black shark skin with a silvery thread stitching and very high quality at a reasonable price. I had them put on the aftermarket deployment buckle. Previously I have bought a couple of other straps from them and all were high quality.

·Just picked up a camel brown leather strap from Bulang and Sons and it's a game changer. Very happy with the transaction as the strap made it to me in three days (NL to Colorado, US) with no expedited shipping. Strap is soft and well made. Very comfortable instantly without the "break in" period of previous leather straps I've used.
I have a Hirsch on the way so I am excited to compare.

I have also tried Hodinkee and can confirm good quality, cool look ... but as you say - a little bit more expensive due to shipping and customs (I am located in Germany).

·I've been happy with the Flucco and Pelon straps I've purchased through Holbens (holbensfinewatchbands.com). I recently purchased a couple of leather straps from Teddy Baldasarre plus a mesh strap. ·I'm a bit of a Bulang snob (https://bulangandsons.com/). I haven't found anyone close to their quality (at a lower price point, at least), and the only reason I even looked at/ordered from other brands was because a) Bulang is a little pricey, and b) the shipping takes a while from EU to the US. That said, they fit like a glove, have a great profile on the wrist, and look fantastic.
I have experience the same thing, I love my Bulang strap.
I saw one on an Omega Seamaster pro, with the ceramic bezel and a strap from Bulang, that had me ordering one, even at $110 usd
