I have asked this before, but in case of any recent / new members (like me really) who may have some helpful input, or didn't see my original posting.

Before anyone mentions "have you tried the Jewellry Quarter?" I have had a wander round there and have to say I wasn't too taken with the 3 or 4 places I ventured into.

A couple said that "you really need Omega in Switzerland" and 1 or 2 didn't really sound convincing even to a noob like me. I'm sure there might be someone perfectly able there, but I didn't find them.

Any recommendations please?

What are you looking to have serviced ? also I wouldn't restrict myself to Birmingham. I have never met my watchmaker and I suspect many others have never met theirs, mail works just fine.

I have an early 1940's MK II Marine Standard (previously kindly identified by a OF member), which probably caused the "oh, you need Omega in Switzerland" comments.

Quite happy to consider by mail servicing if a suitable "face to face"watchmaker cannot be located.
