well, I guess I should have expected, my recent purchase used purchase of a reduced has stopped working after about a month, makes a bad sound when. you shake it. it just quit. never got wet in my owner ship. just wore it.

so the burning question is, who would be the most reliable repair shop in the US...expected cost of repair?? expected time of repair as a average,,

Sorry to hear that...it's a tough question re service. Over the years I've brought mine in for a couple of services, first to a local guy I trusted but who admitted he couldn't work on the chronograph layer of the watch (it's a separate Dubois Depraz sandwich that sits on top of the main movement), more recently to Omega Canada who had it for several months before I got it back where it promptly broke again (actually the chronograph seconds hand fell off the spindle). They took it back yet again for several more months and eventually replaced the entire, complete movement at no extra charge after apparently throwing their hands up in exasperation! It's a tough one to work on, I wear mine so seldom I don't think I'd do the service route again.

So to answer your question, I'd recommend Omega directly since they'll at least do it right...eventually.

Yeah, I'd send to Omega and let them swap out the module. You might find an independent who'd be willing to service the time only portion and not the Chronograph module for a cheaper price, but I'd rather pay the little extra to get it all serviced.
