мой друг, even though I don't speak Russian, I know the word "пожалуйста" from exposure to it(also "спасибо"). I don't discriminate on language skill but I do believe in politeness when asking for things. Especially when you've just registered on the forum.
I often use translator to ask stuff in other languages too, but I always try to make it polite. Instead of just saying: "I need this information".
