Watch information and service advice

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping some very helpful people on here might be able to give me a little information about this watch that my Dad gave me. I’d also like to get it serviced and the glass replaced due to scratches if anybody can recommend anywhere in the Gloucester / Cheltenham area.

The information I have is limited I’m afraid. Obviously the strap was replaced but I believe the original buckle was put on it? Omega have told me that the movement was produced on 15th August 1962 before being shipped to the UK and being put into a 9ct gold case by Dennison.

Case No: 175352
Movement Serial: 18794925
Calibre: 552

Any additional information would be really lovely to have.

Thanks,
Jamie

My sense is the hour hand has been replaced.

I think you're right, and in fact, I think both hands have. Here is a similar watch I once owned (and should have kept):
