Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum but I am new and looking to purchase this timepiece and wanted to know if it is genuine or not:

1. OmegaSeamaster PlanetOcean - Calibre 8500 is the make of the timepiece
2. Been told by seller it was purchased in September 2013
3. Bracelet strap identification is 232.30.42.21.01.001
4. Watch serial number is 85694020
5. On the back case it also has S114 - what does that mean?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is that 2 photos of the same watch? One is with a strap and one with the bracelet. The serial number indicates this is a ref. 23230462101003 with the bracelet.

Si14 is referencing the material of the balance spring - silicon.

Hi Al,

Yes it is 2 photos of the same watch, one is with the leather strap and one is with the steel bracelet. The vendor tells me the 2 pictures of the rear are from different ends of the lug backs and one side is stamped with serial and the other is not. As for the omega ref you have quoted he has sent me a picture with that ref number on the Omega cards so you are correct, I am not sure why he quoted me that other omega ref number. Is taht omega ref number stamped on timepice anywhere do you know?

No the reference number won't be on the watch, just the serial number. Everything else looks fine from what I can see in just 2 photos.

Thanks Al and would more photos help, if so I upload a few more and assume the timepiece is sold with both leather strap and metal bracelet included normally or are they separate. If possible can you post me a screenshot of what omega database shows as assume you found the omega reference using the serial number.

It looks to me that the serial number on the omega warranty card and the one on the watch match and assume that people can't make replicas of them or can they? Sorry for all the questions I just don't want to end up purchasing a lemon.

Watch was sold on the bracelet, and strap/deployant would have been purchased after the fact.

You should mention the price to see if you're being taken advantage of.

Nice to meet a friendly bunch of helpful chaps and the price I have been quoted by seller is £2650 with rubber strap or £2900 with both sets of straps and I do really appreciate all your help guys. I just need to get it verified with vendor present and if all good it shall be on my wrist soon as looks great and hope performs as a great time piece and be my first Omega so looking forward to it, if anyone is selling a similar one then please let me know.
