Purchased at an estate sale. Just got it back after having it serviced. I have original bracelet but it's missing an endpiece that I'll continue to look for to make the watch whole. I do like the look of the new leather band. Hope you enjoy as I do.

Nice pickup! Really attractive dial patina.

Assume you already know this, but the chrono hand and the bezel have been replaced at some point. Possibly also the subdial hands, given how much whiter they are than the hour/minute.

All hands are not correct, but should not be too hard to find right ones
Bezels with DO90 lately got crazy expensive. Do not know why

How are you identifying that all the hands are incorrect? I can see that the "whiteness" is a clue. The shape of the hour and minute hands looked correct to me based on the year but I'm just learning about it. I knew the bezel is later as I bought the watch without one. How are you identifying that it's incorrect? What is a DO90? Thanks.

Hello, this shape of central second came up only in 1968 and ist the earliest found on Ref. 145.012.
The minute and hour hand are both to short. Especially the hour hand should almost reach the outer indicies.
The bezel is not from the 60ies but 70ies or later. You should source one where the Dot is over the 90 and not on the side of it.
No reason to worry! You will find he correct parts :)

Where do you recommend looking for the correct parts? Maybe this forum, eBay? Thanks for all the information. I am pretty excited about the watch.

Keep watching eBay or the FS section of this forum. You'll have to pay at least $1,000 for a nice period bezel but the hands can be found much more cheaply. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful find.

Like had been said. It's going to provide you with a great bit of hunting, looking for a bezel and hands.

Slightly disturbed your watchmaker did not draw your attention to these characteristics - only because this suggests an unfamiliarity with the reference.

thank you for sharing. To be honest I often learn more from a 90% watch than a 100%

I hear you. He did mention the bezel but not the hands. Good and reputable place but not sure how intimately familiar he is with vintage Omega Speedmasters. He did love it and asked numerous times if I'd sell it.

What's an approximate value of these watches today?

$1,000 would be a steal for a good DON based on prices lately. $2,000 might be more realistic.
