    Spoiler alert: NO! :D

As longer tenured members may recall, I have called out this well-known, California-based dealer for gross negligence in the past. Here are a couple of examples, for context:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/ruh-roh-–-another-kenrigonal™.73102/#post-923401

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/wannabuyawatch-–-the-misrepresentations-continue.63574/

So, for the first time in many months, I went to their website and took a look at the new offerings. The watch that jumped out was this Longines:

    https://wannabuyawatch.com/product/longines-stainless-steel-sector-dial-circa-1937/

Now, setting aside the "medium-sized" (28.5mm) nonsense, a relatively trivial offense, take a look at the photo of the "heavy case with screw down case back" [emphasis mine]. ::facepalm2::

Now, keep in mind that this dealer has been around for a long time, has a fancy store in West Hollywood, charges premium dealer prices, and again, has been called out multiple times on this forum for similarly outrageous transgressions.

There are no legitimate excuses for such repeated offenses, and it's a mystery to me why anyone would trust him.

Damn. This watch was offered to me two years ago for 350 dollars by a New York collector of military watches, and I know he finally sold it one month ago for that same price to another person.
That’s a steep curve, I wonder if someone will buy it at 2750....

Yes, those threads are some kind of public service. I completely get why there is a premium for buying on an internet site (time to take proper pictures, website costs, insurance, shipping, ...) and why there is a dealer's margin to be added (I should know, I also sell watches sometimes).

But these prices/misrepresentations are ludicrous and unprofessional.

Ah but did it have a screw down case back then because it apparently does now :whistling: must explain the price increase ;)

Now we can calculate the exchange rate between West Hollywood dollars and US east coast dollars!

I am quite sure it's another person.
Both the initial seller and Barnfind (it turns out) are long time collectors and members of the other forum we frequent.

If you look at three listings on that site, you're likely to find at least one major error. Like this one, which claims that the chronograph has a Venus 175 movement, despite the fact that the dial clearly shows an hour totalizer.

I have an article about this shop and the owner from an old issue of GQ magazine. I'll look for it and post it here.

I bought a few jewelry items from them when they were in that old location. They've moved a few times since then..

Cool old article - I had no idea he started out selling at the Rose Bowl market.
