I’ve posted about my father’s Seamaster I recently was gifted by my mom. A part of that collection of watches included this one. Second hand moves. Hour and minute hands do not. Any ideas on year or if there is value in having this watch serviced and repaired? Thanks in advance. CBM

For reasons of sentiment, it might be worth your while checking to see what repairs might be needed, and the associated cost. This will be a Swiss made Waltham, a manual winder it would appear. Many might reply that repairs would likely be more than the watch is worth. Easy for them to say since it is not their father’s watch. It is your decision to make.

When it comes to the few family things I have, I’ve paid more to repair some than their value. At least get an estimate in what it needs, I wish u luck

Thank you, Sir. Appreciative of the time and the answer. I’ll likely have it checked out and will gift it to my son once repaired. Thanks again.

The “DAY” and “DATE” windows are kind of quaint.
I haven’t been able to find one with Day and Date windows on the internet. It’s one of the reasons I posted it on here for any insight the members might have. Walthams generally don’t command a higher price nor have the history of Omega, but there are a few models that seem to be more valuable.

Try a Google image search. I just did one and a handful with the same dial popped up. eBay and Etsy listing, plus some others.
