This looks like a very nice watch. The "Swiss" on the dial means that it was likely a US market piece. Yes, it's been polished a bit, but all that means is that you won't be competing with Mike. 😁

Good luck, and may the best bidder win,

Nice dial but the watch is terribly over polished.
I'm not as picky as most of you guys here, but over polished or not, that is one bad ass waffle dial Seamaster.🥰

Dennis are you still going for this one?

Now I'm on the fence after studying it. I still like it, and the dial is excellent, but ever time I see this thread it puts me one step more towards passing. I gotta impose a 24 hour cooling off period and stop getting overly excited because I need to stick to my plan - and this 2627 / 353 was not in that plan anymore.

Well I'm going to go for it if the price is right. Gotta factor in the price for the right crystal, who could have thought that date magnifier was a good idea! lol

Back then, those crystals were popular. The magnifier wasn't on the top like the Rolex wart, it was built into / underneath the surface. My Conquest has one and it's kinda cool.

Haven't worn this one in a little while so I'm gonna go get it out of the box for tomorrow morning.

Can be, Omega made optional crystals with magnifiers for some models/size. Not sure about this one, but have I seen if before on this model.

The eBay 353 went for 1766. I was in at 1300 🙁

I think you were a bit low with that bid, even by my bottom-feeding standards. Melt value on the case is probably around $1,000 at current prices. A decent steel or gold-capped version of this watch with an average dial goes in the $400 to $600 range. Add a slight premium for the nice guilloche dial and you're pretty close to the winning bid.

Yes, my bid was low on purpose. Because of the over polished case I decided I wasn't going to chase this one but if I could get it at a good deal I would 😀. I might have raised my bid had I not seen the waffle constellation in the recommended eBay watches thread.

I was kind of surprised by the final price being that high.
Considering the dearth of nice, original Omegas lately and all the money out there surfing on the 'Bay...I wasn't.

I might have raised my bid had I not seen the waffle constellation in the recommended eBay watches thread.
These are the choices we have to make sometimes.

Take care,
