I've been curious about JLC for some years now, but have always felt they made watches that were too dressy for me (at least for my current phase in life). But every year or so, I do like to swing into a boutique to have a look at the watches that have always held my interest. Having given up on the Reverso (the only one that seems to fit me well is the Gyrotourbillon 4 ), I am now more focused on someday pulling the trigger on the Master Ultra Thin. Since I'd never tried one on for size before, I thought why not now? After an hour spent in the boutique, I walked away still trying to consider between MUT Moon or MUT Small Seconds... MUT Moon or MUT Small Seconds? More affordable in steel: WG is beautiful too, especially that grey dial... Reverso isn't too bad I think... but I don't know if I will always like the shape... SA brought this one out for me to look-see as well. Luckily, look-see is free!
Yeah, I don’t agree with your first statement, at least in that pic, the Reverso is the winner in my opinion. The steel moon is my second favorite.
Not really a statement; more an opinion. I first got to know about JLC first through the Reverso, but quickly realized that I only liked them with indices (ala 1931 Tribute). But I still knew that I wanted to have a JLC in the watch box, for one of those rare, dressed up nights... which really led me to the MUT range of watches.
To be honest, I have not. I know very little about the brand and have only recently started to do a lot more reading up. In 2018/19, I was deep into learning more about the Speedmaster
You gotta warn people before you throw a JLC Tourbillon out there like that...'bout had a heart attack. I don't even remember what this thread is about....I'm swimming in endorphins, you bastard.
My recco would be the MUT in WG or steel. The Reverso shape takes a bit if getting used to. In my case I came in to the AD for a Reverso and left with one but I encountered the RG Master Moon and it haunted me. Few years later I got a great deal at a Paris AD on mine.
Have you seen the Reverso Tribute Moon? That's the one I'm in love with at the moment, but I know the year-end bonus won't cover it. I'm loving any and all of the moonies, including that beautiful vintage piece.
I love the Reverso - but then...since I am not buying, YOU have to love the Reverso, too! I would say the steel Master Moon is the more easily worn watch - and a beauty, as well. W
