I see the seller posted some more pictures. Maybe he is a member here?

The balance side of the movement looks good.

Interesting AP watch.

Yes, and I should have added to at least one of my posts, I am making no accusations of fraud or fakery here whatsoever. I just don't see how one can prove in a situation like this that an unmarked case and dial are original and genuine AP, though of course they may be. If the seller is here, maybe he or she can clarify this point.

I think we know who made their movements

My Agassiz pocket watch. Very high grade, equivalent to a US size 12, approx.

We demand pictures! 😁
Ok, crappy iPhone pics on my dresser. I haven’t looked at these in years (haven’t worn double cuffs in some time) , and I looked very carefully with a loupe and one the side of the face I found two micro stamps that I could barely make out but they are there- one is a very muddled 850 and the other is an elongated oval with a leaf or something in it. Would need a stronger loupe to really make it out. I stand corrected-there’s are indeed stamped- but wow are they small!

Thanks. It wasn't a Speedy hiding in grandpa's drawer, but still a neat find I think.

It's a shame that the original owner didn't feel comfortable wearing them. I can relate to having things that feel "too nice for me" and wanting to save them for special occasions. (Thanks mom!) But then, what's the point?

Agreed. My grandfather was a rather austere man, rarely ever treated himself for anything. My grandmother on the other hand had impeccable taste and kept them living in style.
I am with you on not sparing for a "special occasion". Use your crystal every day, eat daily on china using silver, drink the good stuff and don't tuck it away for guest- life is a special occasion and worth celebrating.

Just as a postscript, the vintage Audemars Piguet tank watch on ebay sold for $2,119. Still a bargain if it was demonstrably all original and genuine, but probably about right for a real AP movement from the 1920s put in a more fashionable case in the 1930s or 40s, no? Congrats to you if the winning bidder is here. I'll have to keep hunting.
