I don't see why you would want this watch, but it could very well be fake and the asking price is reflecting a huge premium for its supposed LE status. I doubt I would even consider it without an extract.

Edit: If it is real (and you're not trolling us), it's a watch that would just go into a vault, unworn, in the hope that someday someone is foolish enough to pay you a lot of money for it.

in my opinion in this configuration the watch is not legit

and the plexi should have a loupe over the day/date complitly

and why buying a watch (even in legit configuration) for a price like this

perhabs 1/3 would be ok

Hands, Dial, and day wheel are all likely not original to this watch, so this is absolutely a 'custom' watch.

This one has also had a significant case-refinish (see the sharp line above the crown for obvious sign, but it isn't close to the actual shape the case is supposed tobe: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256586049153).

My guess: Someone had a watch in rough shape and decided to make a custom watch out of it, pretty recently based on the condition of the case. They did a case re-finish based on the photos.

The dial itself is re-painted/redialed even other than the signature (Omega goes above the hands, seamaster and automatic are both uneven).

The movement looks 'fine' perhaps, though the hairspring in the 1 movement photo looks messed up (too small coils on the center pinion side).

Overall, someone took a ~$800 watch, made a custom dial for it, spent a bit grinding on the case, and is looking to get 10x for it.

The reason I even mentioned trolling is that it's not typical for a first-time buyer to want to buy a hugely overpriced watch with the name of a totalitarian dictator on it. If you can use google, you probably know that a generic version of this model sells for under $1k, and that it's not really desired by collectors. So presumably, you were attracted to the Kim Il Sung dial, which is a little weird, IMO

I'll note: This is a 1 of 1, whether it has any value to anyone is up to that person. TO me, frankly, it has none.

As an Omega: it isn't really an Omega, enough has changed on it, that unless the signature is VERY important to someone, this has parts-only value to me.

As a watch: The case is pretty ruined. The refinishing is reasonably high quality, but it is obviously unsymmetrical in a bunch of ways. The dial is nicely refinished, but is 'wrong' enough in a couple of ways as to be unacceptable to me. The signature is a huge negative for me as well on top of that. The HANDS however are one of the worst parts! They are criminally short. A good watch has them just 'touch' the minute markers, the idea is you should be able to know what time it is. Same with the seconds hand.

So the value to me/most watch collectors is: Value of the movement. Which is going to be at MOST 2-300 dollars. The 1022 can be had new-old-stock for a $600 it looks, and workin gused ones go for ~$250.

So unless you are a HUGE North Korean Dictator fan, this is priced 20x its value.

Thank you. I am not a huge dictator fan but thought it could be a cool historic/unique piece is all, but if not authentic I can hardly justify it. Thank you all.

It鈥檚 authentic. It鈥檚 just been restored. Hard to know if the dial was done recently or was done years ago when it was presumably gifted to someone.

The price is absurd

I did hear this dictator does have very small hands and feet so maybe that鈥檚 why this handset is so small on this watch! ::psy::

I鈥檓 not convinced the hands are wrong. A significant proportion of Cosmic 2000鈥檚 are seen with these hands so it鈥檚 either factory or an Omega service replacement.

I just realized that I hit 200 posts on this forum with this silly post! What a waste of my 200 posts rule! Anyway, I got nothing to sell!
Have a nice day! 馃槑

Yes, the chamfers look like they are gone completely from this case.
