Vintage watch modification

Its like those guys who fit modern 20” alloys and ultralow profile tires to a late 60s muscle car... its okay but its just not right somehow. I always end up thinking how much better it looked with period correct wheels.

at least its a reversible modification.

I have a friend who has done this to his Merc. Again I think he has done it well, and although not as it was originally intended, I like it a lot.
