Well it is interesting and creative, but...

I get the same feeling when I see the Etsy watch cufflinks - I really hope these were complete basket cases before the modification. I can’t get past that

I don’t think it’s comparable. Watch cuff links are a novelty item. I think these stand up as good design.
They are watches I would not normally consider, but now peak my interest. If you go to the website, you will find the watches have been serviced by a watchmaker and the original hand is included in the sale. There is a nice story about the integrity of the process too.

Hard to say... but result is not bad! I guess it depends on the watch they use. I would like it to customise a brand new watch, but I would never say yes on a vintage!

There is an artist actually exposing at the MAD gallery in Geneva. He replaced the hands on watches from 1960s by fancy or even strange things. I’ve seen a limited series of 10 Chronostop watches modded that way. Can’t say I liked it. Will try to find some pictures of his art to illustrate.

well ya gotta give this artist credit. if this is limited to 10 pieces then the guy knows where to hunt and find 10 1968 chrono stops with dark grey dials. someone should team up with the guy and see what else he can find 😀

I dislike novelty watches, before you know it you’ll have snoopy on a dial 😉

I just see very nice Watches and pictures, that became ugly. But nice idea from the creative standpoint.
