After reading your essay I became very interested in those "jumbo" Ultra-Chron and I just bought a 7951.
I also bought (separetly) the bracelet we were speaking about some posts earlier.
Both should be shipped soon.
As soon as I receive it I'll post photos.

Brilliant! They are great watches, some of my favourite to wear. Look forward to seeing pics!

Update.
Unfortunately, the 7951 I bought was not working and therefore I had to return it.
The hunt continues.

Here I am.
Finally I've been able to grab a "jumbo' UC.
It is reference 8301-2, whose serial numbers date it from 1970 (even if for that specific year serial numbers are quite doubtful).
The dial is dark grey, with a slight patina.
The case has some minor scratches, but from my judgement it should not have been polished.
It came with a bracelet, and I just wrote a post in the thread dedicated to Longines vintage bracelets.
It alse came with a box, which I have no idea if consistent with that watch (btw, personally I am not particularly fond of boxes).
Here's some photos.

That's a beauty! I love that dark grey dial variant. It's the lumed version as well, which I think adds a certain something by accentuating the cross-hairs.

Ultra Chron watches sold in the U.S. had a special box. Here is an example.

The box it came with is definitely older and has nothing to do with your Ultra-Chron, but eh, it's not as if the box is important in this case. Congratulations on your grey crosshair dial model, it's a beauty 😀

One thing I have noticed is that the last "c" in "Automatic" has different versions, one being more "curley" than the other.
Did you notice that too?
Here's photos of the two versions: first the "curley" one, then the "standard" one.
