Odds are generic quartz movement so they can be swapped.

In the 1970s, quartz was the epitome of watchmaking, I doubt quartz movements had become $1.20 each at that time. I suspect the movements are one jewel "Timex" style mechanicals and servicing them would probably require destruction of the case.

Hmm, seems like you can open the Batman watch through the crystal. The yellow one seems to be a "container" case.
At least, I would say its possible to open them without destroying the case.

These are both hand-wound mechanical movements, NOT QUARTZ.

I remember seeing one of these in a salvage store years ago. It did wind up. I think the case was like the Batman case only yellow and with on character on the dial that I can remember. I think it just had oversized numerals. It never occured to me that these might actually keep time, and I doubt the one I saw would have.

The Batman one! Zap Pow! That is great.
Gilbert made a cool Batman watch in the Sixties.

I paid a ridiculous amount for a James Bond one years ago that probably hasn't seen the light of day since. Often think about digging it out for another "The real James Bond watch" thread.

All pictures from Google searches. The ATG thread mentions a Bulova movement in that one, so you might be lucky with servicing @DIV http://atgvintagewatches.com/atg-vi...bert-james-bond-spy-watch-1965-£399-00-a.html

There was also a GI Joe and a Cowboy's Saddle (Bronco?) in the Gilbert range.

If anyone is interested there's a James Bond watch identical to the above for sale on Ebay. It looks to be in good condition.

Found a superhero watch at thrift for like 50cents.. thought it was cool. Wind up as well, and when wound the girl flies ard in a circle to mark seconds.

Your Batman is most definitely cooler, though 😀

HA!

Great wrist shot! 👍

And...I see the Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone in the background...which worked fantabulously for smacking ridiculous cousins at family gatherings...and they deserved it. 😁

What can I say, I have an unhealthy obsession with many things Looney Tunes:
This one was NOS, in the original coffin box. Pepe and Penelope Le Pew

Not really a toy, but saving it for my 1st grandkid someday - my 26 year old 3D hologram-crystal Mickey Mouse Watch. I got this from my wife my to celebrate my 1st year as a pediatrician seeing patients. It's pretty cool IRL.
