I bought this about 4 years ago on Ebay. There was no description, but I took a punt with a max $150 bid and got lucky. Turns out it's in great shape, and has been in my regular wear rotation ever since (and happens to be on my wrist today).

That's an Aquasport! 😀 And it looks like a very nice example of the first execution of that product line circa 1941-1942. The serial number on the back will date your watch. You can see other Aquasports in this thread and maybe even find yours in the introductory photograph of the product line.

Thanks very much Vitezi! The serial number tells me mine is from mid-1943. The thread you suggested is fantastic -- a welcome distraction at the office today. Your two-tone dial is fantastic; I'll certainly be keeping my eyes open for available examples.

Here is a circa 1939-40 Tissot with cal 33.3. I think this is the same movement as the lemania 15TL, but not sure if the two are identical?

My only Tissot, same as a couple of posts above, but with the original steel bracelet as well. 😀 Almost forgot about it because it doesn't get much wrist time these day. 🙁

Here is my Seastar Navigator. I absolutly adore this watch. (Yes I am aware that the seconds subdial hand is red on every other one I have ever seen so that probably means mine isnt OG but I actually prefer having just the red chrono hand so its all good).

It checks so many personal boxes - i simply could not dig this little guy any more.

But i haz a problem. My wrists are chunky. festively plump if you will, and i cannot get the bracelet closed. Does anyone have links from/an entire 2025-40522.32 bracelet they would like to sell me?

Until then I have to admire this watch from afar and it bloody sucks.

Just opened up my 1970 PR516 GL for the first time.

How it has spent its life so far: Manufactured 1970 based on serial number, original owner is a family member, no idea how long he wore it, then he put in drawer, then I took it and wore it for a few years around 2000-2005, then I left it in a drawer. Then I found it couple weeks ago...Now it’s out for service.

The inside of the caseback has what looks like a date etched on it - 30-something-2004 L.

Does that suggest it was serviced in 2004? What might the L mean...?

If so, bit strange because I was using the watch in 2004, and have no recollection of sending it for service...

To my knowledge there is no standard notation for a watchmaker's service mark. Each watchmaker had their own notation that they themselves could probably decipher if you were bringing the watch back to the same shop for regular servicing.

Thanks. I guess the other way to put it is - ‘aint nobody else engraving the inside of the caseback, so clearly someone who serviced it!

But there is an alternative option - it isn’t clear that it is a date and I was wondering whether it could have come from factory.

I’d be keen to figure out because I previously thought it was going for its first ever service this week...

My only Tissot, purchased @Jwit 😀

I saw exact same model for sale here on OF if I recall correctly. Too bad it seller was in UK . I wanted it badly but unfortunately I have no idea about international shipping and customs or other kinds of taxes so I had to let it go.
