I am starting a post where people can hopefully share INFORMATION, REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. and for SOURCING PARTS and or Knowledge for vintage Tissot watches the cousin of Omega ... hopefully people who might need advise, parts etc etc ... can find what they are looking for .... via other people on this page

Tissot merged with Omega back in 1930. Lemania, the movement maker joined the group 2 years later and became the chronograph movement maker for the brands. Having a captive chronograph maker enabled both Omega and Tissot to become official timing partners for many events such as the Olympics, Formula 1 and other sporting events. Tissot and Omega used a lot of similar or even same movements over the years.

You're on your way to having one of each of these:

A nice family photo and a worthy goal I should think!

In the late 60's, a friend of mine couldn't decide between a Tissot and a Speedmaster. The jeweler let him try the Tissot for the weekend. My friend went with the Speedmaster which he still has. It's mint.

Vintage Tissots seem to be the reasonably priced for what you get. I have been looking to pick one up.

Top tip: If you like a 516GL, look for the version where the minute hand swings underneath the hour markers, like this:

Talking of Tissot.......I also like the limited edition heritage range of watches that were produced around 15-20 years ago. Here's one of mine
