For sale is my vintage Tissot Visodate Automatic SeaStar with its original black leather strap and stainless steel buckle. This is a great watch for anyone looking to take a dive into the vintage supercompressor category (technically I do not believe this is a “super compressor” as that was a brand name, but now all of these internal bezel pieces seem to be called that).

The ad above does not have the exact configuration of my watch but shows the reference. The T.12 on the dial references Tissot 12 ATM water resistance. You can find this notation on other Tissot pieces of a similar vintage. I believe these watches were produced from 1967 to 1972.

The watch has a nice black dial with white crosshair and writing. The rotating internal bezel has a lume plot at 0 and stainless steel markers around the rest of the bezel. The watch also features a date wheel at 3 o’clock.

It is a large watch (roughly 43mm x 42mm) but the stubby lugs can help it fit on a smaller wrist if needed. The hidden crowns are a nice touch as well to keep it comfortable on the wrist.

The watch has some nice looking patina that some collectors may refer to as “tropical.” The markers are consistent and share matching patina with the internal bezel lume. The watch has original white rectangle hour and minute hands that are in great shape. The steel second hand may be a replacement, but if so it matches the watches better than a red hand would IMO.

Watch runs and keeps decent time. The date changes as it should right around 12. I don’t have a time machine to tell you the deviations, but on the wrist I have not noticed significant gains or losses. However, please consider this piece in need of a service since I am unaware of its service history.

One condition point to note is the top cracked crown which controls the internal bezel. It still functions as it should but is a bit of an eye sore (well to be honest you can’t see it on your wrist). I believe the original crowns can still be purchased from time to time on eBay. The case may have been polished in the past, however I have not done anything to it besides wiping it off on a t-shirt.

I would like $500 PayPal F&F or bank transfer.
Watch is located in the USA but I can ship anywhere in the world, just shoot me a pm and we can work out the details.

I have plenty of feedback from buying and selling on this forum. I also don’t violate the bump rule 😉

Photos were taken yesterday with an old iPhone 6. They have not been staged or edited, it is what it is. I can take more photos upon request and am happy to answer any questions.
