Hi All,

Does this look legit? I have some doubts about a few parts/areas. I've done a little research trying to find similar watches but haven't had much luck with it. I am extremely weary of buying Rolex online, especially one like this that is uncommon. If it is legitimate, what kind of price range would you say is fair?

If you are extremely weary..... Why buy it ? Never buy vintage watches you have to explain everytime.....

I think the watch might be a Cellini model. Try searching Cellini, rather than Rolex.

The movement looks like the real deal:

I think the Rolex Geneve line was the forerunner to today’s Cellini line. These are dress watches that were not stylistically related to the Oyster line.

The case number would date the watch to the early 1960’s, which would be consistent with the movement.

It is possible that the dial is solid gold. You would need a watchmaker to confirm that. I would also have the case tested for gold content to be sure.

Legitimate seller. I never bought from Derek Dier but a close friend recently bought from him and is happy. I recognized the photography from his website - watchestobuy. He occasionally sells watches with « restored » dials and discloses this fact in his sales description. This one is described as original. I like the Cellini that he currently has for sale

It has more to do my inexperience & paranoia than anything else.

Watch is legit.

Price is around 2000 - 2500 $.

Small (odd) size and hand winding.

Anyway is always about who you buy from rather than where you buy.
